faker.tools is a small, independently run project — 79 synthetic-data generators maintained by one developer. Everything below goes to the same address: hello@faker.tools. Expect a reply within a few working days.
Report something wrong
Corrections are the most useful mail we get, and they get answered first. Worth writing about:
- A checksum that does not validate. If a generated IBAN, card number, routing number, barcode, or VIN is rejected by a standards-compliant validator, that is a bug and we want it. Include the exact value and the validator you used.
- A format that is wrong for a country. Postal code shapes, phone patterns, national identifier layouts and address ordering vary in ways that are easy to get subtly wrong. If you live somewhere we have modelled badly, tell us how it should look — local knowledge is worth more than another reading of the spec.
- A value that collides with something real. Identifiers are drawn from ranges that standards permanently reserve for documentation and testing, so a collision should be impossible. If you find one, it is serious. Write immediately and we will pull the range.
- A broken page, a bad layout, an accessibility problem. Include your browser and, if you can, a screenshot.
Request a generator
Tell us what you are testing and what the data has to satisfy — the standard it must conform to, the validator it has to survive, the shape of the fixture you are trying to build. A request framed that way is far more likely to get built than a bare name, because the specification is most of the work.
Before writing, it is worth checking the full directory — the tool may exist under a name you did not think to search for.
Privacy and data requests
We hold no account, no profile, and no record of what you generate, so there is usually nothing for us to look up. Requests concerning advertising or analytics data are best directed to the vendors named in the Privacy Policy, which also lists their opt-out controls. If you would rather start with us, write and we will point you to the right place — or answer directly where we can, within 30 days.
Licensing, press, and advertising
Generated output is already free for commercial use with no attribution, as set out in the Terms of Use— you do not need permission and you do not need to ask. For anything beyond that, including use of the site’s own text or artwork, press enquiries, and advertising or sponsorship, use the same address.
What we cannot help with
We cannot debug your application, review your code, or advise on whether a particular use of synthetic data satisfies a regulation that applies to you — that is a question for your own counsel. And we will not help anyone use generated identifiers to obtain goods, services, credit, or access. Mail of that kind gets no reply.
